With trailhead parking lots every 5-10 miles, the path is ideal for both day hikes and backpack camping.
Minneapolis
Activity: Biking
Did you know that Minneapolis has nearly 200 miles of on-street bikeways PLUS 92 miles of off-street bikeways? It's no surprise our city has been ranked as one of the best bike cities in the country time and time again. So, what's holding you back from jumping on this bandwagon? If you don't own a bike, never fear -- Nice Ride is a bike-sharing program with stations throughout downtown Minneapolis and uptown. You can borrow bikes by purchasing a subscription for any length of time, and then simply return the bikes to any Nice Ride station after you're finished.
Various Cities
Activity: Golf, Walking
There is a reason we consider golf a lifetime-sport: is it is a great opportunity for exercise and staying social under the sun (don't forget your sunscreen) at most any stage of life. Not to mention, it is a fantastic stree reliever! If biking or running is too hard on your knees, you can head out to one of hundreds of golf courses around Minnesota, with several public courses in the Lake Minnetonka area including Lakeview Golf Course, Orono Golf Course and Glen Lake Golf and Practice Center right here in Minnetonka.
Excelsior
Activity: Stand Up Paddleboarding, Yoga
Stand Up Paddlebaording, or "SUP-ing," is the newest thing to hit the water, providing fun and fitness for hours. These long surf boards are a fantastic way to work your way around the lake at a comfortable pace while strengthening your core, arms and legs. You may even want to take your yoga routine to this new water platform. The SUP combines the skills of surfboard riding and canoe paddling, but it's also very relaxing. Tommy's Trollies in Excelsior offers SUP and Kayak rentals on Lake Minnetonka for adults and kids.
