- Dr. Richard Horowitz.
Lyme disease is a well-known condition that’s caused by the Borrelia burgdorferi bacterium. It’s transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick. In most cases, Lyme disease can be treated successfully with a few weeks of antibiotic treatment. However, in some cases, Lyme disease doesn’t go away entirely. This can lead to a lesser-known
condition called
Chronic Lyme Disease (CLD).
Before I further, I would like to share a common story that is often shared by my chronic lyme patients.
Recently I had a 48 year old male who came to me with a history of a Deer tic bit and was treated by Medical doctors with countless rounds of antibiotics. The patient stated he felt slightly better after the antibiotics but his symtoms of chronic migrating pain, Low energy, disturbed sleep, poor vision, difficulty concentrating, headaches, heart palpitations and mild depression quickly returned. He also stated, most foods have become so hard to digest that it is very difficult to keep weight on. After my Chornic Lyme protocol, the patient states he is feeling 90% better. He has gained 23 lbs, he is sleeping through the night, his energy has dramitically improved and his pain is vitually gone.
This patient has suffered for 18 years. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?
